Facial Contour Correction – Injections to Restore Volume and Define Features

Facial contour correction involves injecting hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers to reshape features, fill wrinkles and folds, and restore age-related volume loss. Hyaluronic acid is a natural skin component, so fillers integrate seamlessly into tissues, maintaining a natural look and feel. Contour correction allows non-surgical lip augmentation and shaping, cheekbone enhancement, filling of nasolabial folds and marionette lines, jawline definition, chin augmentation, and non-surgical rhinoplasty. Results are visible immediately after injections and last 6–24 months depending on product type and density, injection zone, and the patient's metabolism.

GENEVITY uses certified products of varying density – light formulas for surface hydration correction, denser ones for sculpting defined contours and restoring skeletal volume. The aesthetic doctor selects the product type and technique (cannula or needle) individually after assessing facial structure. Duration of effect varies by zone: lips require correction every 6–12 months, cheeks and chin every 12–18 months. It is recommended to schedule top-ups before complete resorption.

Contour Plasty

Contour correction is a fully reversible procedure. If the result is unsatisfactory for any reason, hyaluronidase dissolves the filler within 15–20 minutes.

Indications for Contour Correction

  • Age-related volume loss in the cheeks, temples, and under-eye area
  • Pronounced nasolabial folds and marionette lines
  • Lip augmentation or reshaping
  • Non-surgical correction of facial asymmetry
  • Jawline lifting and definition
  • Nose profile correction (filler rhinoplasty)
  • Chin augmentation or reshaping

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Active skin inflammation (acne flare, herpes)
  • Tendency to form keloid scars
  • Anticoagulant use (increased bruising risk)
  • Presence of unresorbed fillers of unknown composition in the treatment zone
  • Autoimmune conditions and tendency to granulomas

Contour Correction Procedure: Steps and Details

01

Consultation and planning

The doctor analyses facial proportions, discusses the desired result, and selects products. For complex zones, photo analysis from various angles is performed.

02

Preparation

Aspirin and NSAIDs should be discontinued 7–10 days before contour correction. A topical anaesthetic is applied for 30–40 minutes, or local lidocaine anaesthesia is used.

03

Filler injection

The product is injected by needle or cannula into the planned tissue layers. After each injection the doctor sculpts the result with their fingers. Duration is 30–60 minutes depending on the number of zones.

04

Post-procedure recommendations

Avoid intense exercise, sauna, alcohol, and facial massage for 48 hours. Mild swelling and bruising are possible and resolve within 3–7 days. Do not massage injection zones without the doctor's recommendation.

FAQ

GENEVITY uses certified stabilised hyaluronic acid fillers. Product density is selected by zone: soft gels for lips and hydration, medium density for nasolabial folds, dense formulas for cheeks, chin, and skeletal zones. The doctor names the product and its characteristics before the procedure.

Yes. Botulinum toxin and fillers are often combined on the same day or two weeks apart – this is known as a 'liquid lift'. Biorevitalisation and mesotherapy are combined with fillers 2–4 weeks apart. Device-based procedures (RF, HIFU) are performed before or at least 4 weeks after filler injection. The doctor creates a comprehensive treatment plan at consultation.

Discontinue aspirin, ibuprofen, and other NSAIDs 7–10 days before the procedure – they thin the blood and increase bruising risk. Avoid alcohol for 2–3 days beforehand. If prone to lip herpes, take a preventive antiviral course prescribed by your doctor. On the day of the procedure, do not apply makeup to the treatment zones.
